Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm the founder of ChainFree Living Counseling Services and the co-founder / co-administrator of The Whole Life Path International Community Forum. To learn a bit more about me, just click into my Avatar on the left. I truly look forward to getting to know all of you here. A friendly reminder, we do have a private group available in this forum for those who would like to share more sensitive material off of the public forum. Just let me know if you would like to be added.

Those who are born into dysfunctional family systems face the complex, challenging task of unchaining themselves from the 'energetic template' inherited from the family-of-origin matrix so as to recover and reclaim their true selves, free of illusion and distortion, and others' limiting ideas about them.

Participants in this forum will explore the role(s) they may have played in their original family system growing up, and how they may still be unconsciously living out these dysfunctional and/or limiting roles as adults in their family-of-origin, and/or their workplace, romantic/committed relationships, and elsewhere. We will begin by learning about Bowenian Family Systems theory. "The pioneers of family therapy recognized that current social and cultural forces shape our values about ourselves and our families, our thoughts about what is "normal" and "healthy," and our expectations about how the world works. However, (Murray) Bowen was the first to realize that the history of our family creates a template which shapes the values, thoughts, and experiences of each generation, as well as how that generation passes down these things to the next generation".

You are encouraged to read about Bowenian Family Systems theory via the below link prior to our beginning our forum discussion. Once you've read it, you might share in a reply here (or in the private, password-protected group - just email me at for the password) your initial thoughts regarding Murray Bowen's theory about how family systems work, specifically, "family patterns of emotions and relationships, as well as family structures of dyads and triangles." As part of our discussion, I will share my own theory that both expands upon and goes beyond Murray Bowen's own conceptualization of family systems, specifically, reconsidering Bowen's theory from a transpersonal (psycho-spiritual) perspective.
